100 ICLCR5 2-way ceiling speaker 100 ICLCR5 is a compact, high-performance in-ceiling speaker. Combined with conventional or wall-mounted speakers, it is the perfect complement to a home theatre installation (dedicated room, living room…). It is also ideal for large rooms with no rear wall to the listening point. CUSTOM INSTALLATION To complete your hi-fi or Home Cinema installation, the loudspeaker has five possible in-ceiling applications: front left, centre or right channels – rear left and right channels. SOUND BALANCE Thanks to its adjustable tweeter (20°) and two 13 cm Polyglass cone drivers, the loudspeaker delivers smooth, precise treble and defined midrange. A left, centre and right selector ensures the same sound regardless of the listening position. SOUND ADJUSTMENT Treble levels can be adjusted in three positions (-3 dB, 0 dB and 3 dB), allowing you to optimise the loudspeaker’s performance according to the room’s acoustics. In addition, three-position correctors (left, centre or right) adapt the loudspeaker’s directionality curve to deliver the same sound everywhere. TECHNOLOGIES Polyglass membrane Well-defined mids The diaphragm, the key component of a loudspeaker, is at the heart of our acoustic engineers’ research. Polyglass technology, exclusive to Focal, consists of applying fine glass microbeads to a cellulose pulp cone. This process reconciles the excellent damping of paper with the rigidity of glass. The stiffness index is almost 10 times that of polypropylene. Adjusting the mass-rigidity-damping ratio results in a remarkably linear frequency response curve, right from the membrane design stage. This innovation also significantly increases definition in the midrange register. Inverted dome Tweeter Optimum space dispersion The inverted dome tweeter has been a Focal signature since 1981, offering the property of being a true micro-speaker. The curvature of the dome is much less pronounced than that of positive domes. This results in better space dispersion and very low directionality, unlike ribbon tweeters. The inverted dome tweeter therefore generates unrivalled dynamics, enabling sound engineers to precisely control the dosage of compression. The precision of the image (height, width and depth) is remarkable, making it easy to position each instrument. What’s more, a waveguide has been developed to perfect spatialisation and further enhance the inverted dome’s very low directionality. In the horizontal plane, the frequency response is within /- 0.5 dB. This performance guarantees an incredibly stable soundstage.
