Ultra Low Jitter Jitter is the undesired deviation from true periodicity of an assumed periodic signal in electronics and telecommunications, often in relation to a reference clock source. A cable displaying ultra low jitter has been measured at typically 30ps. Digiloc2™ Technology QED Digiloc2™ RCA plugs feature high-purity copper signal and ground connections supported by a new non-conductive low eddy current body. The hollow central pin eliminates the skin effect at high frequencies and the revised locking barrel design clamps the dual blade ground connection firmly to the RCA sockets for improved noise rejection. The optimised geometry of the plugs and the dielectric materials selected have resulted in a closer impedance match for low jitter S/PDIF transmission, resulting in a measurable 1.5 dB reduction in insertion loss. The all new Digiloc2™ design cleverly substitutes high rigidity thermoplastic material for both the inner support structure and the cable strain relief to eliminate the distorting effects of eddy currents, which are always present in ordinary plugs where bulk brass is used instead.
